Musing over the Festival runners, I remembered a surprising statistic
from last year that still stands. Ruby
Walsh, despite being the festival top jockey more times than he’s probably had
hot dinners, has not won a chase at the Festival since 2009 when he rode
Cooldine, Masterminded and Kauto Star all to victory. If you’re going to back Ruby’s rides blind (and many do!) then it would be prudent
to just concentrate on the hurdles races.
